A farmer's rest
year: 2009
material: linen bag(rice bag), sponge, air cap, cotton tape
For a person taking a rest from labor, anything can be a chair; an object surrounding you like a stack of hay or piles of rice bags in the farmhouse. A chair does not have to be made with high quality wood or leather, it just needs to be comfortable. This idea lead to making chairs out of rice bags which were lying around the exhibition space wall. Sponge covered with air caps were put into the bags and sewn over. Several cushions made in this way are stacked with a string attached to hold this assemblage.
