Kim HyunJoo was born in Seoul, South Korea in 1980. She graduated in Hong-Ik Univ. IDAS as a Master of Product Design in 2008 and Seoul women's Univ. as a Bachelor of Industrial Design, Visual communication Design in 2004.
She's worked in Giovannoni Design Studio in Milan, Italy in 2007. After came back to Seoul from Italy, she worked as a freelance designer.In 2009, she's established Design Studio in Seoul and working in furniture, lighting, tableware, product, and public design field. From 2010, she's working for GCS stone and Geochang Stone RIS as a design director and designing street furniture that is made of granite, and other stone product as well.
She won the Red-dot Design Concept Award in 2008 in part of Furniture. Her recently outdoor facilities are selected as a Good Public Design from Seoul city in 2010 and 2011 as well. Since 2008, she's been shown a new design in some of design fair in Seoul.
